Information on Reopening of Church
COVID 19 LOCKDOWN UPDATE
Re-opening of St. Anne's for Mass on Saturday 11th July 2020
Mass times
Saturday - 1pm (doors open at 12:45pm)
Sunday - 12:00pm (doors open at 11:45am)
Wednesday - 12:00pm (doors open at 11:45am)
From Saturday 11th July St. Anne’s will be opening for Public Worship with appropriate health and safety in place.
The obligation to attend Mass is still suspended for the grave reason of protecting public health. Those with underlying health conditions should continue to self-isolate, others will have to decide if they wish to attend Public Mass in Church.
We can reduce social distancing from 2 metres to 1 metre plus. The plus refers to mitigating measures, this means you will be required to wear a face covering in church. It is a parishioners’ responsibility to provide their own face covering.
With the reduced 1 metre social distancing we can accommodate up to 60 (maximum) in Church.
Please only sit in the designated pews and please ensure you follow the guidance given by stewards.
Bring as few possessions as possible, anything left behind in church will be disposed of.
Do not touch statues or other items in Church unless it is a necessity.
Mass is to be as short as possible to reduce time in church, there will be no singing, offertory or sign of peace.
WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT CHURCH
Ensure you are wearing a face covering and sanitise your hands. Social distancing and hand hygiene are key in protecting health. Take note of the signs and the guidance of the stewards. Note that toilets, confessionals and the piety store are closed. No hymn books are required. As there is no offertory you will find a weekly collection basket on the table at the back of the Church. Please observe social distancing of 1 metre + and the one-way system. Votive candles are available but social distancing and the one-way system must be adhered to at all times.
COMMUNION
After cleansing his hands and putting on a face mask, Fr Robert will proceed to the place for distribution of Holy Communion. It will be under one kind and on the hand. Arms should be at full stretch.
When everyone has left the cleaning of the Church will begin.

To watch a Masses and service from churches in the Birmingham Archdiocese, go to archdioceseofbirmingham.com which is the website for St. Chad’s Cathedral and there you will find a list of churches that are streaming services daily, including the Cathedral itself.
Some of these you have to tune in to at the time of the service but others will have the service recorded for you to look at anytime.
